Added some of the DNRC freqs since they are managing several of the fires in the state (Harris Mtn, Slough Grass, Anderson Hill)
Got hits on these frequencies today.
151.265 nfm
151.175 nfm
151.4 nfm

Also had air to ground freq of 167.7 from Bozeman area.

With higher temperatures and lower humidity expect activity to pick up the next several days.
With conditions of higher temperatures and lower humidity most of the rotary wing ( helos) will lose visibility due to
smokey conditions and leave from bucket work and return to the tanker bases or heli-tac locations.
I.E. today on Harris Mtn fire around 1500 rotary wing aircraft left due to visibilty on fire.

If anybody else has frequencies to add that they have heard, please do so.

updates/loggings as I get them.

New fire spotted in Big Snowy Mountains South of Lewistown (about 20 miles from my QTH) in Lewis and Clark National Forest.
Called Crystal Lake Fire, about 2 miles south of the actual lake/campground. IA (initial attack) was helo 3 Alpha Echo getting onscene and getting incident command setup. then started doing bucket work until air attack showed up, then continued throughout the evening. Air Attack asked for seats and heavy air tankers. Had 2 seats and 4 air tankers doing drops.
Air Attack on 124.925 am
Air to Ground on 168.4 nfm
probably will only be helos with bucket work tomorrow.
Estimated at 5 acres total.
Air Attack callsign was Bravo 73 out of Billings, great controller and very professional, cool and calm, precise communications!
One other frequency I logged this afternoon was 169.15 nfm air to ground, not sure which incident.
Updates as I hear/log them.

Most of air attack and air to ground frequencies are still good. Lots of activity on all large fires.
Air Tankers staying extremely busy, late yesterday afternoon and most of today the air tankers flying to the
new and very large fire NE of Hardin, (Poverty Flats Fire) estimated at 75,000 acres and it started around 1 PM yesterday the 27th.
Air attack should be on 125.2 am
Air tankers coming out of Idaho, Missoula, Helena, Billings and Rapid City.
Earlier in week air tankers were having trouble finding jet fuel, saw the DC-10 come off the Poverty Flats Fire and go to Great Falls, I would guess for jet fuel and then down to Helena for retardant.
updates as I hear/log them.
