If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello,

I have been searching for the answer but can't seem to find it. I may not be searching correctly, but can someone please answer the following:

Will the CDM1250 transmit two tone pages? Can you do this with regular radio programming?

Thanks

Matt

Mine will, however there seems to be some real differences between exact models of CDM's that I've never been able to understand. Seems like some do, some don't. Of all the CDM's I have, including 1550's and 1250's, they all do two tone decode. Standard programming software allows set up.

Every CDM1250 that I have worked on will transmit QC-II just fine, regardless of model number or configuration. Same for decode. I've not heard of a 1250 that won't.

It's the 1550's that have some real variations in them. Some do and some don't handle QC-II.

For the OP, one thing you can do is examine the codeplug. If you can set up QC-II encode, then the radio should do it. There are sample codeplugs for every possible model of the CDM's in the Samples folder. It gets installed when you installed the CPS.

The 1550 ls+ will handle anything, the regular ls and the regular 1550 I couldn't tell you.
