Will Co Patch

Hearing yesterday Will Co patching Plainfield PD digital dispatch only (no mobiles) in the clear using a TG-10-030.....

I heard the same thing as well. I wonder why they would do this if they are not going to patch all the communication?

Not sure about that, i also see where there dispatching LWay on 04-097 and not using "any" of the other 15-??? patches anymore....They change things around more than anyone else....

Yeah, now that LWPD is using the 04-097 my EDACS 500m scans it correctly. Before I had to be on the channel, now it scans correctly.

Im hearing the 15-096 patch today back on Will Co??????...

There are a few reasons that I think that LWPD uses the patch. The first is they still broadcast on 155.6700, and some officers use the old VHF as a backup or whenever they come across staticy on the 800mhz system. I also think that some officers do not have 800mhz portables just 800mhz mobiles; so that's why the patch may never go away.

Thanks for the info, when i used to pick up my grandson from school i would meet a FFort officer at the school and he said the patching would cause bad signals on his EDACS portable and wanted them to stop using patching but that must be the reason to keep it.....

So now I guess we can have the database updated with the correct talkgroups.

I'd say to have it as:

04-097- LWPD Main
15-096- LWPD VHF Patch

It's just odd that they have it set up like that. On my 246t it comes up together as '04-097-15-096'.

Yes, i think who ever corrects that can drop those other "patch" groups and just use what you printed....On my GRE500 when 04-097 comes up ut says "ptch" instead of TG.....
