Will County Sheriff System Down???

I am not hearing any EAST or WEST or Lincoln way traffic at all. Could lightning have taken out the system somehow?

All the freqs changed due to rebanding last year, do you still have the old freqs?

Check the RR Database or CARMA Profile and be sure you have the right ones in the radio.

The system appears to be working now, but from about midnight to 2:30 when I went to bed I heard nothing. The CC was working; and the only talkgroup I was getting was EastCom. Something definitely happened; theres always someone calling 911, and to not hear anything for hours is odd.... especially overnight when all the interesting stuff happens.

I can't say about the Sherriff's department, but I know Lincoln-Way units use their Nextels more than they use the radio.

I still do not know what happened that night; I still find it HARD to believe that not a single person called 911 or anything for 3 hours across the whole county. But say lightning did strike the antenna on top of the tower, would it have any affect on the system? I know all that stuff is grounded but still? I still think lightning or something shut the system down for those 3 hours or so...
