Just thought I ask this question. I personally am not going to get to worried till DPD has Air one up more then once or twice a week.

There has been confirmed Pro-Voice activity on the system allready. Primarily sensitive stuff.

As far as the regular district stuff goes I would not expect any changes till after the new simulcast system is operational. ESK offset on the control channel is a good bet.

When Denver setup their original system back in 1992 they had every intention of locking out the public. At least they did allow media access to the PD and FD District TG's along with limited DIA TG access. Whether this will be the case if Denver ESK's their system or goes Pro-Voice has not been addressed to my knowledge. Same goes for Lakewood.

I remember hearing about this from Denver Explorers way back when, about how no one could listen w/o a special receiver that they could only get though DPD. I wonder if they will go that way again?

By the time the re-banding for Denver is done all the radios will be ESK capable. Some people there can't wait to turn it on, others aren't sure it should be done at all. That's a political thing.

Not all the radios will be digital Provoice capable, the patrol cars have analog only radios still.

The new system expansion is moving along. There is no exact time frame yet; they are having a problem with the new tower they want to build and may have to move to a different location. I would think it will still be another 8 months or more if I had to guess.

DPD for several years has been digital capable as far as the repeaters are concerned. They were using provoice for some sensitive comms several years ago. But for the beat cop they are still a ways off. As far as ESK. Who knows if that will ever be used...

Don't hang on that statement - they already have solicited quotes for mobile radio installation (they already have the radios and just need to install them).

My guess is that the EEB is ready to go but does not want to tie down all there resources to swap all the mobiles.
