Hi,

I get static on the local Police feed I like to listen to. If I purchased a scanner would it be any clearer?

Maybe and Maybe not.
If your closer to the source then the feed provider, then it is possible to get rid of the static.
But there is no way of saying yes or no, get a scanner and see what happens.
