Will this scanner work for me?

I have not used a scanner since the 90's and was wondering if a scanner I had in mind would work in my area. I'm wanting to listen to Caldwell County SO and Luling PD in Texas. They are both on the GATRRS system. I was looking to buy an RS Pro 106 digital trunking scanner but not having used a scanner in so long I don't know if this is a scanner that would work for what I'm wanting to listen to. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks guys

The Pro-106 should be able to handle the P25 Phase I system just fine. Something you may want to do before buying one is taking a look over at the Texas Radio Discussion Forum to see if there's any developments that might change the system towards encryption or Phase II as the scanner with not be able to handle either of those. A quick look doesn't seem to indicate anything of that nature.

Hopefully they don't change systems any time soon. Scanners are a lot more expensive than they used to be.
