I was wondering if a regular scanner like the Uniden BC-60XLT-1 30 channel programmable scanner will it pick up the FLEETNET 800 signal ?? or do i need a better one ?

A scanner that only goes up to 512Mhz is not going to pick up an 800Mhz frequency.

The other piece of the question is; "What is the format of the Fleetnet 800 system?" :?


There are lots of refernces to fleetnet being EDACS, but ther is also a refernce to several Motorola Radios being available on the network. :roll:

Welcome to the hobby. Hang onto the BC-60. Even though it doesn't pick up the 800 freqs you wanted there's still plenty to hear on it.

Think about upgrading to a Trunktracker.
One of the options in these newer radios is the ability to follow EDACS
systems, which is what Saskatchewan FleetNet is using.

I see tons of EMS talkgroups and also the RCMP using this system.
It would be worthwhile to consider movin' on up.
