Looks like WCSD is temporary using MAPS for all communication and did here at 1pm units say they are in route to post for radio install. I am not able to here anything on the old sheriff repeaters. Have tried listening in P25, DMR and the old analog. I know MPD and HPD went DMR anyone know if WCSD is going DMR or are they going P25?

More then likely they will be going to DMR as Marion and Herrin are both DMR. However I have my Anytone radio programed with promiscuous mode and have not heard any traffic on the old 154.875 all day.

NovaCom in Herrin provide radio equipment to many LE Agencies in Southern Illinois. Most have moved to DMR Encrypted. The Database shows Williamson County is licensed for DMR so I wouldn’t be surprised they went DMR encrypted like Marion, Herrin and Saline County.

Who notifies Radio Reference when a system gets upgraded? There is usually some info on RR even if they are DMR Encrypted?

I have been listening to the old freq with promiscuous mode on a Anytone radio and can't seem to see any DMR traffic on the old freq. I wonder if they are using a new freq? When Marion and Herrin went to DMR I could see the DMR ID's of the units and but could never hear the traffic as it was encrypted.

What kind of scanners are you using?

Is anyone just listening to 154.875 in TUNE mode?
At least see if the DIGITAL NOISE is there.

Also, can you keep an ear on 155.61 for DMR usage.

Does anyone ever heard Major Case Squad 159.255 Repeater in use??? I heard it a few times in the area a few years back

154.875 DMR was assumed to be simulcast, 3 sites (Pittsburgh, Cambria and Carterville)

453.275 and 458,.275 are supposed to be remote links, may be used for something else, you never know.

158.8575 may be used as an input on the Cambria tower instead of 156.09
154.34 is also licensed for 50 Watt mobiles, no known prior use in county.

Can someone check Marion Police 155.7975 for usage? (input 159.0975)
We have 151.43 and 151.415 confirmed in use, but not this other repeater on KJB824.

Also, if we can find a tone for 154.965 Siren Data, 155.715 Water Sewer

Be sure to look at the WIKI page for more frequencies and information

I appreciate everyone's help trying to keep the area database up-to-date!

If you have anything not listed, or tones, talkgroups, or think something is no longer used, please SUBMIT to the datbase.

I am not convinced that Williamson Co. is still using 154.875 because I am not hearing even any digital noise or anything?

Are you sitting on the frequency in VFO/or tune mode? (not scanning)? If not, try it that way. Maybe the new system doesn't penetrate to you (Goreville?), the way that the Analog system did?

I still had the old PL tone in from when it was an analog frequency, I removed it and I hear the encrypted gibberish now! So they did remain on 154.875
