Williamson County starting to encrypt more channels?

Noticed that Georgetown Med 1 is now encrypted and Cedar Park PD and some RRPD tac channels have been encrypted for a while. Anyone know of any other plans to encrypt channels for Williamson county?

Georgetown FD is all encrypted now...might as well lock out all their TG's. If it is a multi-alarm fire then it will be patched to WC FIRE 10-16 for other departments to communicate.

Bleh... I understand medical channels on some level but Fire? Yeah, lets make things more complicated...

I find it interesting that they are now encrypting fire coms. I guess HIPPA or some other idea has caused this.

A little too much in many ways. Encryption has a purpose but not for things like this.
