And if I can follow up for the lurkers in our midst....we have a very nice Wiki article on monitoring Milair activity in our region at:

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Delmarva_Milcom_Monitoring

The 'Combat Air Patrols' link is found in the 'other milair activity' section. We also have links to the NY and DC ARTCC frequency lists in the database. At a minimum, you probably would have some luck in keeping the UHF ARTCC freqs handy, along with 228.9 and 260.9 (which have been very popular HUNTRESS frequencies during the last several MD CAPs) along with the Guard Dog freqs of 135.525 and 350.25.

Which VHF air-air freqs will be used will be dependent on which unit gets the duty, considering we also have a TFR for the State of the Union address. That won't be known until the actual event. Be sure to sound off if you find out.

73s and happy hunting...Mike

Details of Bush visit still under wraps

The White House confirms that President Bush will visit Wilmington on Wednesday, but specific details have not yet been released.
The White House has told WDEL News to have a reporter available "around mid-day" Wednesday, but no other details on the time or location of the President's visit have been released.

The President is expected to talk about energy initiatives -- one day after his State of the Union address.

I think I read that a probable visit site will be DuPont where he/ they will trumpet their contributions to lowering pollution.

I'll be scanning the likely freq's starting tonight, maybe catch WHACA putting up a couple repeaters prior to the visit.

As usual though, the second the wheels hit the ground everything (not ENC) goes encrypted until wheels up.

Maybe that DuPont 900 TRS will see some activity for once.
Dave

PS,
looks like DuPont wants to be sure they are visited.

Better not bring up Koyoto though!

Spotted one of the Presidential Helicopters on Sunday at 11:20a.m. northbound over the southbound lanes of US13 in the area of Hares Corner. Proceeded north over my vehicle and made a left into the New Castle County Airport. Unable to get the tail number. Clearly marked United States of America, as opposed to USMC.
