• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

hi guys

I was looking for a Wilson LiL WiL on facebook market place and craigslist ....... I came across a pair of Wilson 1000 mag mounts cheap a few miles from me... so finally today I messaged him... he sold them this weekend..... oh well.

but the seller told me he had two Wilson 5000's brand new just been sitting in a box for a year.

two of them for $100 ( 50 each) so I asked for pictures
these are the pictures he sent.
he called me to talk about it... as I'm talking to him I saw the 49" whip and told him that's for the trucker model.... the mag mounts have a 62 1/2 inch whips ..... he assured me that is what Walcott sent him with the mag mounts??? I assured him it's not the correct whip.... so he called me back later and said I was right and they sent him the wrong whips and he has a friend that goes to a CB shop that will swap the whips for the correct 62 1/2 whips ...so I said ok I'll buy them....
but could these coils be for the trucker model????
I hate to buy something that is not correct.
anyone know if these might be trucker models??? please let me know
thank you.

side note.....
so I asked why he is selling SOOOOOOO much CB stuff and he said he has cancer and is trying to sell it all before he goes so his wife won't have to..... he told me what he had ..... you name it he has it! he just sold the Icom 7300... he has Anytone 6666 .... 5555 ....5555 NII he must have a hundred ham radios.... most I've never heard of ... so many things it's amazing! all going CHEAP ..... I imagine a lot of the ham guys with big shacks will have to do this someday.... very sad.

I love the hobby but, I just like to have one base radio and the same model radio in my mobile... I did buy a spare when they came out with the short version..... I like to have a lot of antenna's to test and play with... and I love having a hundred handhelds so I could outfit a small army if needed.....

so I'm not big into having all this STUFF

I think the guy figured I was into the radio hobby and would buy a few pieces.... little did he know... I mostly only know how to turn stuff on and off... so all the cool gadgets he had wasn't for me.

That looks like base-load / mag-mount coil.

Do image search for Trucker version. Has shaft connection underneath different shaped bottom.

Just put newest version STRYKER 955 with a power mic and 5K onto an minivan roof and you’ll be The Audio Big Dog Mobile for Eastern Mass.

Brush up on Urdu slang to really mess with them truckers on 19. Them guys ain’t on radio for most part so between Yankeeisms (trainer) and the subcontinent (trainee) it’ll be like flies on . . . .

Great antenna.

The sellers gear is going forth to help the hundreds, maybe more, who’ll read your tests.

Thank you Slowmover .. I don't need any more CB junk and was getting worried that he had trucker versions.... But I guess the trucker has a different connection and says trucker on it

He has a Stryker sar 10 for cheap money I may as well buy that one too... Sounded like he had a 6666 pro for 150... I'll. Have to get it if it's still there.

He was a truck driver so this CB stuff was a big part of his life.... Going to be hard to go over to a mans prized collection and buy stuff for pennies on the dollar.

What's even harder is going through things when it's an estate for a widow. Trying to be fair yet, having her understand things are not necessarily all worth new prices any more. Often however some good stories came to light from their memories so maybe that helped. Good luck, hope you find all you need (want) there. Perhaps try and engage him in some stories if he feels up to it. That may help some.
