Warbirds Opening Day at new stadium today, if anyone is in the downtown Wilson NC area (other than myself) who has a chance to monitor the ten frequencies this week is the time to do it, games every day through Saturday.

I have them programmed into my G5 (as I'm not sure a scanner would be allowed) and will be listening through the day, and will report back.

From early listening, I can confirm 451.8375 is active and seems like the main channel during the day.

Also 452.3875 is ch 2 Food and Beverage.

These and others I hear will be submitted to the database as one submission tonight or tomorrow when I get home.

For those following along at home....

Apparently only 6 of the ten frequencies are actually in use, I've identified three of them and heard traffic on two others but not enough to make a positive ID of usage. Don't know if @richardbritt would rather wait for confirmation on all frequencies for database or go with a partial list or trust my work on this one and we can look at it again as the season goes on?

Ch 1 Operations 451.8375
Ch 2 Food & Beverage/Warehouse 452.3875
Ch 3 Suites (possible 451.450 based on what little I heard - unconfirmed)
Ch 4 Production - Heard them but did not get a chance to look at frequency being used (maybe 452.4375)
Ch 5 Parking/Shuttles 451.8625
Ch 6 Sec/PD/EMS/Ushers (possibly 456.8375 based on what little I heard - unconfirmed)

That's what we like to see... a well-labeled radio. 😉

A number of years ago, my local independent minor league team added a nice video board when we hosted the league's all-star game. The camera ops & production system board op used a channel few others used. Opening day the following season was a comms disaster. I was able to determine that the additional radios for the camera/video folks were programmed differently (but not labeled, of course).

Existing RadiosNew Radios
Ch 1 - OperationsCh 1 - Operations
Ch 2 - Press BoxCh 2 - Press Box
Ch 3 - SecurityCh 3 - Video 3
Ch 4 - MedicalCh 4 - Video 4

Staff had no idea the new radios were different so they handed them out willy-nilly. That night was a wreck, but they sorted the radios the next day & everyone was back on track.
