I have microsoft surfacebook running Win 10. Since the latest update of win 10 my HP2 is not recognized when connecting to laptop. Tried different cables, uninstalled and reinstalled Win 10, reformatted the sd card, deleted and reinstalled sentinel and Butel software, deleted and reinstalled the drivers. It worked before the win 10 major update. I called Uniden and they couldnt figure out. Microsoft says new update may not be compatable with the uniden software. Am I missing something. It works on my old win 7 machine and used to works on another friends win 10 machine. Also the usb ports recognize everyother device...help. Even my Mac at least recognizes it but no mac software for uniden scanners. When I plug radio into my pc only goes to charge battery and not to Mass storage. Any and all assistance is appreciated.

I know when the spring 2018 win 10 update came out, it replaced all of my usb drivers, and I had a similar experience. Re installed all my programming drivers for all the various radios I program, fixed the problem.

Take the SD card out of the scanner and use a card reader on the SD card. It will show up in Sentinel exactly the same was as it does in the scanner. Just eliminates the need for the scanner driver.

If this works, it's definitely the driver that needs to be deleted and reinstalled. This can be very challenging because windows will try to help.

This is a long shot but it may work.
The windows 10 2018 spring Creators Update turned off a certain microphone sound card setting.

Do the following to fix this :
1. Click on the Windows (Start) icon in the lower left corner of the screen.

2. Click the Settings icon (the gear icon).

3. Click 'Privacy'.

4. Click microphone.

5. Switch on the 'Allow apps to access your microphone' setting.
