So I'm new to the win 500 program, and would like to use it for my pro 197 and program in the Minnesota ARMER radio system. Any help on the easist way to get started. I would like to create it into where I can add certain control channels and then different banks that would be used for different agencies. Thanks!!

There are no banks as such for these object oriented scanners - as I understand it (I'm primarily an Uniden man myself) there are TGRPs and TSYS. As a certain famous green elf once said 'You must unlearn what you have learned'...

If that made no sense to you then here's an article from our wiki with tons of links to help you out. Note that anything blue is a link, both here and in the wiki

Getting Started with your GRE/RS Object Oriented Scanner - The RadioReference Wiki

There are links to the Easier to Read manual, and a Getting Started guide for Win500 (that article also has a link to the Win500 user guide on the Utahradio wiki), along with links that describe trunking, getting the USB cable and much more. I'd bookmark this article - no doubt you will come back to it more than once.

I already have the city of Minneapolis programmed. What city and/or area are you wanting to monitor?

I might be able to share this with you provided you send me a PM with an email address.

I might add this system is a daunting chore for someone learning to program. This radio system is huge, but a delight to monitor.
