SO iam getting a psr-400 on monday, and the rs usb programming scanner cable (all from scannermaster.com).

so now i need to decide witch software to get

win 97 or psredit.

also do these software programs program the rs pro2055/97 scanners?

the prices are only like 20-25$usd thats not a problem, not at all, i just want the best and easyest program to use.

thanks lee

Yes, they both program the Pro-97/2055

They both come with a 30 day free trial. Try them and decide for yourself. You're really the only one that can make that decision.

They're the only two that I know of at this point. There's a rumor that Butel will have something soon, but I can't confirm that one.

Technically, there's another package that claims to work with the PRO-97/2055 and PSR-300/400, but I don't think many here would recommend that you even try it.

EDIT: oops, it doesn't list the PSRs, just the RadioShack versions of them (PRO-164 and PRO-163).

just went through the same thing with a pro-97 and win-97 had NO problems with it whatsoever...some user ignorance issues but thats it, once i figured out what i was doin wrong with it i was cookin with gas...absolutely love it!!i made a huge jump too went from an old school BC-80XLT-1 (yes the old 800 50 channel) thats all i really had the need for then realized i was mising out on a whole lot but i love that the software will do all the work for you! no manual trunking setup which i sitill worked on for on the fly programming but when a computer will do it for you in no time at all whats to lose!!! enjoy!

PS. The premium subscription to the RR WEBSITE here will get you a long way...you wont be dissapointed!
