I like working on a good computer problem but this has me going in circles. I noticed that my TSYS pane was missing the delay time column. When I attempt to add the column, it pushes all of the columns to the right of the desired column position off the visible part of the pane. I can use the horizontal scroll for the pane to get to the displaced columns but it is all or nothing. I can't get to spot where I can drag the columns on the right back onto the left part of the pane. The display jumps to the right and I can only drag the column edges to the far left edge of the pane or use the scroll control to get back to the left side of the pane. I don't see the heading for Delay time anywhere. I tried adding audio boost and other columns but they all do the same thing.

This is kind of hard to explain and probably even harder to understand. I am using v1.98 of Win500 on a Windows7 netbook.

I thought I'd add some info to clarify what I'm seeing. If I right click on the Object ID header and add a column for delay time it will push all of the existing columns off of the pane and I have to use horizontal scroll to get back to them and there is no column to be found for Delay time.

Dan, try changing PC Screen Resolution. Mine is 1920 X 180. I changed to 800 X 600 and sure enough...

That didn't work either Frank. I'm kind of glad it didn't. It looked really bad on everything else.

Win500 adds columns to the right of the column where you right click. Each column's width and position is stored in the Win500.INI file. In case the "Delay" column's width has been increased to some obscene level, you can reset all column settings by deleting the 16 contiguous lines beginning with "Col" in the .INI file.

Thanks Don but that didn't work either. The first time everything looked the same. I then opened the ini file again and it looked the same. I deleted the col lines again and had the same results. Now when I open the ini file the col lines aren't there and the app does the same thing.

You're closing Win500 before changing the .INI file, right? (Win500 only reads the file on program startup, and only writes it on program exit).

Yes. I'm new to Windows 7 so I've searched C: to make sure I'm changing the right ini file and there is only one win500.ini on the drive. I found some crash files for Win500 while doing that. None of them are recent though.

I closed Win500. I opened wi500.ini and deleted the Col lines. Th default file line is followed by a Mon line. I saved the file, started Win500 and then exited Win500 without doing anything. I then opened win500.ini and this is the line that I suspect is causing the problem.

With nothing else to try, I got out the big hammer. I deleted all of the files in the Win500 directory. Due to my fumbling with Windows7, I also managed to delete all of my p500 files.:twisted: I reinstalled Win500, hooked up my backup drive, restored my p500 files and everything is fine now. I hope the problem doesn't come back but it might since I have no idea what caused it.
