I tried to email but my e-mail gets blocked. Is there anyone here that knows how I can make contact with the Win500 creator?

If you didn't save the keys provided many years ago forr WIN500, as discussed above you are out of luck.

The original keys contained the keys, plus your name and address. Still have my keys from many years ago with my very old home address on it.

If you still have WIN500 on an old computer you will be able be able to retrieve this information.

Looking at StarsSoft's webpage, it looks like someone has "freshened it up" from the last time I visited it. No idea if anyone has now taken over the operation or not, but as Bud has noted, no contact with Don himself in a number of years. Try the contact link on the bottom of the Win500 page, and see if you get a response, or that is still blocked.

If still no ;luck. and if you cannot find a copy of your original email with the key when initially purchased, then your only option would be either to purchase it a second time, or (preferably) move over to use ARC500 (Butel) or PSREdit500.

FWIW I switched to Butel. I like their stuff except for the money. Same deal-no answer to Starr emails and totally MIA. You would think one would make provision for their own software instead of disappearing.

I have my original keys and email information from the original purchase but they do not work when I entered them. That is the reason I made the post here. Is the system not supported any more or does it simply not interact with Windows 11 .....I still have my 1st baby tooth I lost from 67 years ago...keeping records and stuff is not the issue here.

All my e-mails have been blocked thus far and I do have my original keys and email info from the original purchase but they are not accepted when entered.

Don Starr, the author of WIN500, totally abandoned his products, emails, forum posts, and customer support of any kind years ago. He used to be a regular posting member of these forums offering support to his customers, but he hasn't posted here in over 6 years.

As @buddrousa mentions above, the email you originally received with your registration keys contains 2 lines of information. Check the instructions in that email and copy and paste those entire lines of info (one line at a time) into the 2 lines in the registration box in WIN500. Be careful not to add any additional spaces when you cut and paste.

If the registration keys you have in the original email you received worked in the past, they will definitely still work now. I have used my keys through several versions of Windows, including Win 11 and Win 11 Pro.

Even if Don Starr was still offering customer support, he would just re-send you the registration keys that were issued when you purchased the software... the same ones that you already have.

If you value the price you paid for the original key, protect it (along with baby teeth). If you don't, then just purchase a new key. I've been using each and every one of Don's programs, all with keys, and have had zero issues when installing in new h/w or a new O/S.

Not that it really matters and not that I memorized what the layout was, but to me his website looks exactly the same as it did 10 years ago.

But at least you can see what the weather is at his house. :p

I appreciate the info, its a wonderful program and certainly was worth the $$ I paid. Mainly WS1040 scanners are what I used to program and I just have several peoples data saved on file under that program.
