Pro 106 + 20-047 cable...

Today I installed the cable and downloaded Win 500. So far so good. It's only been a couple of hours so bear with me. I "downloaded from scanner" and was able to see all the stuff I have manually entered prior to today. I manually entered 426 objects, most with alpha tags ! So today I added some more stuff, not much really, just to get a feel for win500. I "upload to scanner" and at 54% got a checksum error. Re-initialize and this cleared my working memory. LUCKILY, I reloaded from my V-scanner...whew ! All is good. I have "download from scanner" again and the changes I made did not transfer to the 106 nor win500. The additions I made were lost. No biggie, since they were only a few. However, while playing around with win500 I took some time to "move items up/down" based on the 'alpha tag' column (not alphabeticaly, by TGID or object ID). When uploading to scanner, it adds them in numericaly by object ID.

How do I keep my objects in the order "I" want them in ?

TIA

. . . How do I keep my objects in the order "I" want them in ?

TIA

The first thing to do is get in the habit of saving your Win500 files frequently using different file names. That way recovery from unintended events is fairly painless.

To "keep objects in the order . . ." go to the All Objects tab, press the Show All button, then do a Ctrl + A (or Select All from the Edit menu) then Reassign Object ID's . . . from the Edit menu. Then start playing around. Win500 has the most robust options for sorting and ordering of any of the available software. The Edit menu choices can also be called up with a right click on the mouse.

If you've saved your download from the scanner first, you won't break anything while experimenting.
