Win92 - pl signalling on PRO 2067

Hey,

I am using Don Starr's Win92 software to program my RS PRO2067. Some of the frequencies that I use have interference, but I have the correct PL tones for receive. Under RX mode I've selected PL and then under PL/DPL entered the correct pl (for example 110.9). When I scan, it still opens for all traffic on the frequency. Rather than filtering out all traffic without the correct PL, it decodes PL and shows which PL is on the frequency. Anyone have any experience with programming PL with Don Starr's software? Thanks!

pl nor dpl can screen out signals. Once a signal is received with the correct pl, the receiver will open and it will hear every signal on that frequency. With fm signals, the receiver will capture a strong signal and you will not hear the weaker signals. However, if there are two or more of roughly equal strenth signals you will get a mixture of all present.

Do you ever hear a station that you know is not using the pl that you have programed only. If that is the case then you don't have it programed corrrectly. If the station you want to hear is not as strong as one you don't want to hear, then pl can't do much for you.

It is a common misconception that pl can screen, but a receiver is either open or closed.

In manual mode the PRO-2067 picks up all transmissions on channel. In scan mode it picks up only the transmission with the correct PL.

The PL does work proper when BANK is closed [-] I live within spitting distance of Paris Mtn, full of all kinds of repeaters and pagers. We have some freqs with 3 dif fire depts on them. If it were not for the PL/DPL on my 2067/96/BC-9000/780/796 I would have to move at least 30 miles away.

Thank you to everyone that responded! LarrySC had the solution - I had left the banks open. I pulled up the user manual PDF from the RS webpage and there is was... lol
