I think I might have posted the other post in the wrong forum?

Can anyone help me out on this?

Thanks,

It's a type I system. Set "presets" to a map 1 thru 16 that is simular to map you need. Change any block to match what you need. Then enter ID's and Tags in the lower section. Looks like one block will be a type II. Just as a rule of thumb I like to start with preset 8. This gives full coverage for a type I system. However, your map looks to be custom. Good Luck

In here you put the 800Mhz freqs in the freqs colum and for alfa tags you could put "McKinney 800" for all the 800 Mhz freqs. You can then add conventional freqs and label those>the reason is on the 800Mhz the text you added wont be correct because the freqs are voice channels and control channels

In here you you would put the talk group numbers and text like
Fairview Fire 200-4
Fairview Fire 200-5
Frisco Police F3 4880
Frisco Police F2 4848
and so on with all you want to listen too

I will try to attatch a pic of my 800 sys so you can see the text layout

I'm not sure what map I need?

================================================================

Alright, I think I understand it more now, but in this section
win95mot028oq.jpg

I try to add Fairview Fire 200-4
Fariview Fire in the Alpha Tag section
and
200-4 in the ID section and it changes to something like 00080?
Do I need to change any of the Fleet Map presets?
What about putting check marks on the ON colum to the left side of the Alpha Tags
and what about DEC, HEX, AFS?

I'm currently at work, but I will mess with this tonight!
Thanks for the previous help!

From your original post:
Fleet Map: B1 = S0, B2 = S11, B3 = S10, B4 = S10, B5 = S11

In Win95's "Fleet Map" section, there are eight drop-down lists, numbered 0 through 7. These are the "Bn" blocks in the list above. Set:
2 to S11
3 to S10
4 to S10
5 to S11
Leave all others (0, 1, 6, and 7) as "Type-II" (this is equivalent to S0).
What about putting check marks on the ON colum to the left side of the Alpha Tags
That tells the scanner that the corresponding ID sub-bank (0-4) is "enabled". If you enter any IDs in a sub-bank and want the scanner to use your entries, check the corresponding box.
and what about DEC, HEX, AFS?
That controls the ID entry/display format for EDACS and Motorola Type-II IDs. Just leave it at DEC.

Incidentally - it looks like you might be using outdated information. According to the RR database, the McKinney TRS is Type-II, not Type-IIi. Also, Fairview Fire has moved to the Collin County TRS (according to an RR DB news item posted on 2005-04-22).

Great...I'll give it a try tonight.
Thanks everyone for your input and trying to help understand this.

As far as the outdated info that Don mentioned, it could be. At the time I
was looking in the RR DB for the McKinney Info, I didn't know what county
McKinney was in until just yesterday, when I emailed my buddy asking him.
So I just searched else where and went with what I found there, but now that
I know what county, I'll use the info from the RR DB.

I'm heading there for his wedding and want to be able to listen to the area.

I won't know until I go to McKinney, TX in June, I live in MO.

I'm hoping Don or someone could look it over and see if I have the info
entered in correctly. I'm understanding it much more now, just need a
quick look over.

BTW...I signed up with your Yahoo! group the other day. If this works, I'll
upload it to the files section.
