I have a request for a couple of features I would like to see in possible future versions of Win96.

1. The new web import feature is fantastic, best invention ever.
However, I would like for it to import from the "Display" column
instead of the "Description" column. After importing I find I am
having to re-type the trunk alpha tags. Importing from the display
would be more accurate.

2. A print feature to print out all frequencies in a given bank.
Sometimes I just like having a hard copy to quickly reference to.

Thank you Don, your software is the best ever. We truly appreciate it.

Mark :D :D :D

I disagree entirely. The Display column is hardly ever filled in and it only contains what is actually displayed in a real radio's display which may mean something to who is only concerned with a limited set of TG's on a single TRS, but is very little use to someone who is monitoring lots of systems. For example on MARCS EMA-COC doesn't mean anything to me even after reading the description attached. Want another, quick without looking on a list, what is PTF-1.

The MARCS system is the exact example of why I would rather have it use the display column instead the description column.
Most of what is listed in the description column will not fit on the line for the Pro-96 display anyway. So I still have to re-enter it.
I have absolutely no problem with what is used for display, and yes I do know what EMA-COC and PTF-1 stand for right off the top of my head. Ohio Emergency Management Agency - Central Ohio and Lake Erie Correctional. :p

We agree to disagree! 8)

Mark, this isn't the first such agreement I have been envolved with.

As to the use of the Display instead of the Description, all I have to say is I am glad that you don't live in Louisiana, Colorado, South Dakota, or several other states with statewide systems that no one has provided the complete list of Radio Display ID's. The Web Export from RR is a great tool and Don's implementation probably fits most people's needs; however, you can download the data just as easily or just copy/paste from the display instead of typing. The point I am trying to make is that most TRS's in the database do not have any Display data, so there would be very little to download.

In any event, the requested feature has been there for a while. When you hit the "IMPORT THIS SYSTEM" button, take a look at the bottom of the window that appears. There are three options for talk group alpha tags: "Description", "Display", and ID. I just selected the Ohio MARCS system, checked (only) the first Talkgroup "group" (DAS), and selected the "Display" option. The resulting 16 tags were like: MARCS-1, MARCS-2, MARCS CALL-3, etc.

Is this not what you're trying to do?

Sigh
This is what happens when you just don't look carefully enough. I don't know about Mark, but I sure feel foolish. :?

BTW, thanks for fixing the drop down box update code, old keyboard guys like me avoid the mouse a lot. :)

Yep! I definitely feel foolish

Goes to show you what jumping in head first before looking around
results in! I just jumped right into the program without giving it the once over.

..............Now about a print feature for Win96

Thanks Lou and Don,

Mark
