I am trying to re install the win 96 program on my dell laptop and it
keeps finding the registration info and thus perpetuating the same
problem. I am trying to get rid of any files and can not find any to
get rid of so I can do a clean install. the error it is giving me on
web import is (the system can not find the file specified). It is
saving the reg info though.

would appreciate any help here

That doesn't sound like a Win96 problem but a database problem. Exactly which system is it.

Paul,

Is that the exact wording of the error? If so, which file does it specify? At what stage does it do this?

As for the files, the only files that Win96 has are:
  • Win96.exe
  • WinXXCommon.dll
  • Win96Help.chm
All other files are either built when you use the product or data files that you make up. A clean install only requires that those three files be in the same sub-directory (folder) on your computer. The registration information is stored in the OS registry.
