win96 question

What the heck!!!!! I can't communicate with my scanner with win96. I get "timed out waiting for the header" What does this mean, and how can I fix this? I HATE manually programming this dang thing!

Check the com port. Use device manager to check the correct setting. or if the option to find it for you is in the drop down menu, use it.

There are a few potential causes for that message:
1. COM port in Win96 not set correctly (Configuration -> Serial port)
2. Not using a serial cable that works with the PRO-96
3. Scanner not turned on, cable not plugged into PC and/or scanner's PC/IF jack, etc.
