WIN97 - Serial port comm to PC/IF on the PRO97 (Baud, parity, stop bits, etc)

Does anyone set a particular baud rate, stop bit, and parity setting when using WIN97 [on Windows 2000, or XP] with the OEM Radio Shack PC/IF to serial cable? Does WIN97 prefer to be registered and paid for to work correctly during the evaluation period? I keep a laptop with a dual boot system with a stable Windows 2000 and XP build, and the PC has one serial port that is unhindered by other TSR's or competing software.

WIN97 triggers the PRO97 to begin sending, but it does not received the data from the scanner. Suggestions please.

Does your cable have the mono adapter? The Pro-97 requires a mono (tip and sleeve) plug.

Yes, the tip is mono for sure.

Problem solved. The mono tip is for my PRO95, and the PRO97 requires the tip, ring, ring type.
