Win97: Timed out waiting for the header

Hi,

I'm trying to get Win97 working with my Radio Shack Pro-164. When I try to download from the scanner I get a message saying "Timed out waiting for the header." This happens whether I select the "Download from the Pro-164..." option of Ctrl-D.

What's happening and how do I fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What cable are you using? Is Win97 configured to use the correct COM port for that cable? Does anything happen on the scanner's display?

Thanks for the response. The problem was due to the fact that I didn't have the slightest clue what I was doing. Once I dug into the program a little more,I solved it. I don't remember exactly what I was doing wrong but it works perfectly now. Thanks for your help.
