I found this thread on the Winamp forums after starting to notice the regular Shoutcast server log entries containing the A: WinampCheck/5.1 notation.

Anyone else seeing this? Google hasn't been much help, and the forum folx sorta let the subject drop....I'm not convinced a periodic "connection" like this that's timed so precisely, and that seems to only hit feeds that have been made public, is quite so innocent.

i've seen this WinampCheck/5.1 IP address 87.249.112.131 connection as well and it's a good for nothing ripper.

It looked automated to me, but 24 hours or so after putting that IP in the Ban List, the attempts stopped....you know which ripping client that message belongs to?
