I found this thread on the Winamp forums after starting to notice the regular Shoutcast server log entries containing the A: WinampCheck/5.1 notation.

Anyone else seeing this? Google hasn't been much help, and the forum folx sorta let the subject drop....I'm not convinced a periodic "connection" like this that's timed so precisely, and that seems to only hit feeds that have been made public, is quite so innocent.
