Equiment:
Asus ROG Crosshair VI Motherboard Ryzen 7 CPU
AMD Chipset
Windows 10 22H2
16gb memory, SSD drive, Nvidia 1060 GPU
SDRTrunk Nightly 12-03
Problem:
The Windows 10 update of 12-03-24 caused SDRTrunk to no longer recognize the RLT-SDR v3 dongle.
Solutions Tried:
Used Zadig 2.8 to reinstall driver. SDRTrunk will not recognize dongle.
Used Zadig 2.9 to reinstall driver. SDRTrunk will not recognize dongle.
Completely removed all drivers for dongle, rebooted computer.
Dongle now recognized as SDR - RTL2838UIDIR instead of Bulk Interface
Used Zadig 2.9 to reinstall driver. would not let me install the WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385) only option was RTL2828UIDIR driver.
Tried Zadig 2.8, same thing.
Installed the RTL2828UIDIR driver, SDRT does not recognize dongle.
Back to Zadig, now it will let me install the WinUSB driver but SDRT still does not recognize dongle.
Then tried to load SDR++, it crashes during loading. Tried SDRConsole it loaded the dongle. Tried GQRX it loaded dongle. Tried AirSpy it loaded dongle.
Rebooted
Installed Zadig driver for second try, no luck SDRT still not recognizing dongle.
Also noticed that after Win10 update Zadig no longer listed the driver as OBDA 2838 00, only OBDA 2838.
At this point I'm scratching my head for solutions.
Other Actions:
Used different SDRs and different USB ports during the above process.
Updated my old HP laptop with Intel CPU that I use to stream feed. It loaded right up no issues, Zadig shows ID as Bulk Interface and OBDA 2838 00.
Updated my old Dell laptop w/Intel CPU, SDRT would not see dongle, opened Zadig and it showed RTL2838UIDIR instead of Bulk Interface. Loaded the WinUSB driver, then SDRT sees dongle.
Did some research online and found that many folks have had problems with the AMD chipset after a Windows update, so at this point I am still trying to figure it out.
Any Help would be appreciated.
