Windows Media Encoder question

Working on setting up an online feed with the following set up,

Windows Media Encoder 9
Fast-Serv server

My question is what are the best settings for compression and processing?

Update

I got my feed up and running but when listening I've got a awlful hum. Anyone have any ideas of how to correct this?

You can adjust the volume coming from the microphone/line in down and turn up the audio on the scanner. Otherwise you have to live with it. It's something not grounded I think in the sound card. I have the same problem withg a couple of my feeds from time to time and i find that a reboot of the server will fix it for while...I also seem to find it sometimes when I tried to spilt the audio to too many feeds (I have a couple of Feeds I use 3 or 4 different ways to feed the audio to the Net.)

are you using a mono cable ?? I fixed a few hums by not using stereo connections (since its only mono anyway!!)

I found a perfect software to substitute Windows Media Encoder-VJDirector,it can add subtitles ,and can switch between many DV.

Most people only get hum if they use mic in,try using line in.
Also try turning volume down like kc8qch mentioned.
