was listening to the radio techs yesterday morning for a while , they seem to have the system working , and were doing checks from different locations ....one of the techs said they are going to be putting a control station , and antenna in the town hall. they were switching back and forth on the fire dispatch talkgroup , and town wide. so i believe they should be up and running again shortley .

That's all very interesting, but where did you hear them (frequency/system/channel/talkgroup)? I would be guessing in the 420-421MHz range.

Because there is no channel 4.
A LTR system has from 1 to 20 channels that can be assigned in any of the 20 slots. For example, there are several Cox CATV systems in CT that use 1, 7, 14, 20.

Windsor LTR

Well I have a BC250d. I have Newington LTR in there works fine. I put Windsor and E Windsor Backup in there. When I manually scan through the frequencies I get the id underneath but only can get Newington to work when scanning. Not sure why. I only have 1 trunked system in each bank. So I put 460.700 on Conventional mode and that's what the PD works on.

I would guess that either the bank or the individual channels are not in LTR mode.

I don't really understand your reply.

When you scroll manually through the channels, is there a small "L" on the top row just before each channel?

Have you entered talkgroups? If not, enter the PD from each town as they are usually the busiest.

East Windsor was using the main system today but radio service was on the backup so there was traffic on both.

my confusion with windsor , was that there was a missing freq , for the LTR .....and i asked , and i asked , then checking the RR data base for trunked systems i noticed another freq. was added for windsor....i added it , and weeelllllaaaaa......i was recieving the windsor LTR...with no problem....if someone would have just said , that the number 4 freq. that was left blank for the longest time, we now know that freq. here it is .....this would have cleared up a lot of confusion !! but no one responded when i posted a new post about this.....i knew something had changed , but didnt know what , and asked in vein.... oh well....live and learn i guess !

The "missing" frequency, 453.6000 LCN 4, is not being used in the system (yet). LTRDumper shows no LCN 4 in the system. If that is what you were missing but it works now it was some other problem. My bet is that when you added the "missing" frequency, that an overlooked error got repaired such as having LCN 5 in position 4.
