Power failure silences CBC on AM dial

WINNIPEG - A power failure has silenced the CBC’s AM broadcast of its Radio One programming.

A CBC spokeswoman said a power failure this morning at the station’s transmission site has silenced the CBC’s broadcast at 990 on the AM dial.

Even the back-up generator has failed.

Crews are trying to restore power but there is no word when that will happen.

But CBC One is still being broadcast on the FM dial, at 89.3 and on the web.

Montreal, Team 990, dominating so far. Another weaker station under.

No Winnipeg though, which usually dominates here.

Edit: OH! If I flip to my vertical antenna, a different station pops in. Sounds Canadian. Winnipeg after all?
