has anyone used Winscan RS with their Pro-2052? I saw where it will allow the scanner to scan both conventional and trunked systems at the same tiime. I am wondering if it is worth the money. I have been trying a demo version of SCAN CONTROL with the scanner now. I plan on the full version of Scan Control when I get my BC296d.

Unfortunately there's 2 problems with Pozilla's offering; one is that their customer support is, to put it politely, lacking. You *might* get some help from the 2052 Yahoo groups if anyone is using that software, but no guarantees. The second is that most of their older offerings only work on Win9x and Win NT systems; XP is not specifically supported, and it may not run at all (if you do try Winscan RS, I'd run it in compatibility mode).

On the other hand, Scan Control has their own dedicated Yahoo group where the owner/author is a frequent contributor; and it does run on XP.
'Nuff said.

Using the MultiScan button, you can scan both conv and trunked at the same time, but each must be in a separate bank. With no activity on either, the program scans trunked bank for 5 to 6 seconds then switches to the conventional bank for 3 seconds then back to trunked...of course activity will delay either for the duration.

And I agree with Mike 'Nuff said, except WinScanRS runs on XP also. ScanControl is far superior for logging, import/export of files, transfer/receipt of data to/from scanner and Remote operations.

Thanks for the replies!! I think I will be staying with Scan Control. The way Winscan operates the scanner in both modes I don't think it would make it to the trunking very often here. It has been going non-stop since I woke up this morning. I saw the moon was almost full last night when I got out of work.

Thanks again for the quick replies and help!!!
