As of August 2, 2022, Forsyth County Communications "Control" is now dispatching Winston-Salem Fire. With the change, WFDDISP1 and FCFD F1 are patched together on the WS/FC trunked system as well as coming across VHF paging.

On the WSFD side, TAC channels will be assigned on dispatch for multiple unit responses. City medical calls will still be handled on MED TAC 1. Not much has changed on the Forsyth Fire side, units will give initial size up on FCFD F1/WFDDISP1 then move operations to the assigned combat channel.

This transition has been in the works for a while, and it seems to be a smooth transition from what I've heard today with multiple city and county incidents at the same time.

Nice transition to the new County and City dispatch on the VHF 154.2050 and TRS talkgroup. Noticed it yesterday and wondered what was happening until I started hearing the City being dispatched by "Control".

Also, listened to the aircraft "Alert 3" today at Winston-Salem airport where an aircraft landed with a collapsed nose gear. Operations were on "AP1" tac and multiple city and county engines, Hazmat, Rehab, and Battalions responded to the airport at 12:10pm. Fuel was leaking out of both wings of the aircraft upon landing, pilot was okay, but about 25 gallons spilled onto the runway. Teams worked to transfer the remaining fuel from the aircraft to 55 gallon drums provided by the local FBO. Operations wrapped up at the scene a little before 4:00 pm.
