Since Oct 8 I have monitored this system with DSD+ almost continuously and show 51 TG have been logged to my Groups file. Only 2 TG have been really active, 2302 ( I have submitted an on-air ID as “… on the Fairground channel”) and 2550 (yesterday I reviewed audio recordings for over 300 transmissions, but got no positive ID, however based on conversations I made a working unofficial suggested name as “Coliseum Ops“ and included that info in a submission. At this moment I show 30 transmissions on 2302, and 538 on 2550. TG1 shows 1515 transmissions but I have not found any audio files. Of the 51 TG, only 6 others show counts of more than zero, all of those 6 show at most 3 transmissions. The Carolina Classic Fair continues there through Sunday, the 13th at the Coliseum / Fairgrounds complex.
Today the Event Log shows several LRRP, Tgt=10.71.192.10 Src=10.51.1.115 Status/NoFix listings.
BSI submitted as WPUG757.

I have submitted the TG for the Landfill….very exciting listening. Not at the computer at the moment, don’t remember TG, but it is a real thrill to listen to. Hopefully they will work the submission in the next few days.

Good Morning. I am retired from Forsyth Sheriff's Office and use to work in Fire/EMS Communications at Forsyth. One of the guys I worked with at fire/ems is now over the system and he told me several months ago they are working to get Phase 2 up and running sometime this coming year (2025). Should be interesting to say the least. Time will tell.

Do you know If anything will be encrypted? Like dispatch wise?

I'm sorry. I just logged in and seen your question. To my knowledge, nothing will be encrypted except Sheriff's Office Narcotics channels. When we originally went to 800, those were the only channel encrypted and for obvious reasons.

TG 2551 was active this evening with some sort of event operations. I heard seats such as 203-G7 and 214-H4 mentioned which corresponds to the seat numbering scheme in Winston-Salem's LJVM Coliseum. Since 2250 was previously identified as Coliseum Ops, it would make sense for the next sequential TG to also be used there.

Nothing else notable as of yet.

Looks like a landfill unit was trying to figure out the correct TG to use. He came up on TG 2450, 2451, 2453, and 2454. My records also show a few keyups on the following TGs over the past few days, but no substantial traffic: 1201, 1801, 2702, 2705, and 3050.

Additionally, I heard a tone come across TG 1235. It sounded similar to the "channel marker" tone that some agencies use to hold a channel during pursuits. I have never heard Winston-Salem/Forsyth County use such a tone though so not sure what it was. I did not note any voice traffic.

Maybe they were trying out a new dispatch system or something?

Over the past month or two I've heard radio techs on the Type II system ask for radio checks on FCFD F1. The city and county fire departments must be upgrading their radios and/or station alerting systems. No official timeline though on when the switch will happen.

Looks like Guilford County now has access to the new system. I heard one of their medics attempting to contact Baptist Medical Center (to no avail) on TG 1058. My records show 31 TGs as having voice transmissions since the start of the year. Most traffic has been random key-ups and radio checks. I have also heard automated dispatch being tested. All TGs have been in the clear except for one thus far.

I know what happens when you assume, but a good, educated guess is TG 1058 is Baptist Call or whatever they plan on calling it for Baptist Hospital patient reports.

I concur with that assessment. I also have TG 1062 as EMS to Kernersville Medical Center by the same logic.

Lots of radio demonstrations occurring over past last two weeks or so. I now show 70+ talkgroups that have had at least one actual voice transmission since the start of the year. TG 1059 is EMS to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Pediatrics. Most of the other TGs have just been radio tests and demos, so I do not yet have definitive identifications. All TGs have been in the clear except for three.

I am told public safety is now scheduled to go live on the new system in "late spring."

Same thing on my end. TGs 1-8 have been busy with random key ups or radio techs. Then TGs 1200-1205 *might* be fire/EMS talkgroups because I've heard various paging two tones or evacuation hi-lo tones. Also a few test demos on TG 2285.

Yeah I agree with that I have heard a lot of keyups and two tones on 1200-1205
