...winter storm watch in effect from saturday afternoon through late sunday night...

The national weather service in grand junction has issued a winter storm watch...which is in effect from saturday afternoon
through late sunday night.

* timing...light mountain snowfall is expected increase on
saturday and continue through sunday night.

* snow accumulation...10 to 20 inches are possible with localized
amounts of over two feet. The heaviest accumulations are
expected saturday night through sunday.

* winds...southwest 10 to 20 mph with stronger gusts over higher
exposed terrain and in the vicinity of embedded thunderstorms.
Winds are expected to shift to north on sunday.

* visibility...under one mile at times in moderate to heavy
snowfall.

* impacts...travelers may experience icy and snow packed roads
especially over mountain passes. Strong winds will could create
widespread blowing and drifting snow.

The national weather service in grand junction has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow...which is in effect from noon saturday to 6 am mdt monday. The winter storm watch is no longer in effect.
* timing...periods of snow...heavy at times...will fall from
saturday afternoon through sunday night.
