...strong spring storm produces snow and blowing snow through
tuesday...
.a strong spring storm will sweep across the great basin today
through tuesday bringing gusty winds and widespread snowfall to
the region. Significant snowfall accumulations will occur over the
mountains of eastern utah and western colorado through early
wednesday morning. In addition...visibilities will be greatly
reduced in blowing snow...especially over the higher mountain
passes.

* timing...the heaviest snowfall is expected tonight into
tuesday morning.
* snow accumulation...8 to 16 inches.
* winds...southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph expected
increasing to 20 to 30 mph through the morning with gusts of 60
to 70 mph.
* visibility...heavier periods of snow and blowing snow will reduce
visibility to less than a quarter mile at times.
* impacts...travel over mountain passes will be dangerous.
