It's certainly lined up to be the biggest winter storm of the season so far and a blizzard warning has already been posted for the entire I-25 corridor from CO/WY boarder to Monument Hill.

Turn on those CDOT and CSP banks it's going to be a fun monitoring even especially this afternoon and tonight!

The blizzard warning was extended to the NM state line and inlcudes all of eastern colorado and about the western third of Kansas. EB I-70 closed thru Glenwood Canyon D/T crashes.

CSP is closing the gates themselves for I25 north of wellington now. Whiteout conditions, near zero visibility, and all kinds of slideoffs.

I've never seen the horsetooth tower this busy. Of course, half the traffic is buses. Great use of resources...

I am hearing a ton of CSP troopers and Dispatchers talking about getting "busy signals", lots of talk of having to patch talk groups.

Patching TG's is going to do nothing for busy signals..

Busy signals dont have anything to do with patching. Radios still affiliate and tie up towers, regardless of the TG's.

Probably due to extra CDOT, EOC, ect radios on today?

I have no idea Jim and James. I just thought I would pass it along. But yes James I would think just a ton of extra radios being used today. I could be wrong through.

No attack intended, Charles. Didn't realize that Jim had posted a response. Thanks for the info!

Hearing tons of accidents here in Thornton as well, obviously. Northglenn ambulance apparently not answering their phones at the moment. Scary.
