Winter Weather Advisory for Metro Area

It may have been 70F today....but tomorrow:

Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM Wednesday to noon
MST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 6 PM
Wednesday to noon MST Thursday.

* Timing...light to moderate snowfall Wednesday evening through
late Thursday morning.

* Accumulation/wind...snow totals will range from 3 to 7 inches
with the higher amounts across southern and western sections of
the Metro area. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph Wednesday evening
will weaken after midnight.

* Impacts...roads will likely become slushy and possibly snow
covered overnight. Bridges and overpasses may also become quite
icy. Motorists should prepare their vehicles before weather and
Road conditions deteriorate Wednesday evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that snow...blowing snow...or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.

Fort Collins is not included in advisory. NWS forecast chance of rain tomorrow, 1/2 inch snow

Traffic: WB I-70 at Ike Tunnel and EB I-70 at Vail Pass both closed currently.

Update: I-70 has been reopened both directions with code-18 over the passes for semis.

And at the end of the day the metro area had nothing to very little/light snow. We need snow!

Finely, woke up this AM with some small amount of snow on the ground and just a few flakes that have been falling..Nice to see this at this time of season..Any moisture helps, i was about to break out the hose and start watering the lawn. Now how about a blizzard on Christmas Eve....
