Wiped the dust off of my Pro97. What can I do with it?

Right now I just use it for aircraft monitoring. Other than conventional scanning, anyhthing else can I do with it now a days?

How about adding a discriminator tap and using it for weather satellite image reception?

You may be able to do it without the tap, but the tap may give you better results.

Good EDACS rcvr, use mine here in Reno for years. Hope you have the programming cable; they're a major PITA to do from the keypad.

good back up receiver for power outages. Triple Trunk - conventional. MOT, EDACS, LTR.
Skywarn - NOAA Weather and alerting system.
service search - pre programmed search range based on type of service. - outdated but still useable.
CB, Civil Air Band, Marine VHF band, military AIR band all has not changed, still good.
scans slow at 60 Ch a second.
ONLY AM - FM , no SSB, CW, WFM or 6.5khz fm.
