Have around 25 feet of wire straight nw. Want to add 20 feet more but different direction. Is wrapping the wire around a tree for stability a bad idea?

Yup. If the tree sways in a heavy storm, there goes the antenna. Some folks use a rope and pully type system to compensate, but I doubt you want to do that right now (heh)....Mike
Won't be as high as before and the tree I would wrap around is pretty thick but see your point. Thanks
