Amazing what happens when you are patient and you let the process work out as we had set forth and intended.
I've been told that the final touches are being put on the application and it should go live in the next week or two.

I checked today and there are several scanner radio links available to the Logitech Squeezebox now. There is no indication who the provider is, and they're all free.

Using the navigational menu on the Squeezebox, I went to Internet Radio, then used the scroll-wheel and went to the bottom of the list, which is Search, then searched on the word scanner.

Thanks for posting a link to the promotion. I've ordered mine this evening. I really enjoy late night radio... great for putting one to sleep. I'd have bought one whether I could listen to RR or not.

You're welcome, Mike. I just ordered a second one this evening. My wife liked it so much, she commandeered mine!
I think you'll find it to be a pretty amazing little device.
You can also use the web remote (if you are setup for that)Sign In - Welcome to mysqueezebox.com! which is easy searching. Now remember the scanners you are seeing from the search isn't the new app that's coming. The app will basically be the RR radio Database in the radio.

Jobes is correct. Those scanner streams have always been available in the Squeezebox. They are not from the RR database nor part of the app that we are all waiting. Hope that announcement comes soon

I know there has been a lot of interest around listening to the RadioReference.com feeds on the Squeezebox Radio so I would like to let you know that in the next week or so a new application called ScannerBox will be available. ScannerBox will give you access to all streams hosted on RadioReference.com, it will provide information about the feed status, number of listeners, and other feed information. The application will go on sale for $10.
In the next few days I will have the website up with more information.

Will ScannerBox display the alpha tags for the feeds that provide them?

Yes, alpha tags are displayed for the streams that provide them.
That is awesome. I can't wait for the Squeezebox to get here as well as for Scannerbox to be available. Very decent price for the app.
For those expecting lower prices, remember the author has to pay for licensing, needs compensated for his endeavor, and there won't be nearly as many Squeezebox people using it as there would be iphone/blackberry users using a similar app. The guy has to do more than break even too... everyone needs to make a living!
I guarantee I'll be a purchaser of the app.
