Wiring a Geotek Desk Mic /FT 857D

I have a Geotek Desk Mic model # 0907-01-035, I'm wanting to wire this for a FT-857D. Should I use the rear mic/Key jacks or would it be better to use the RJ45 jack. Also can someone let me know the wiring pattern.

You can download the owner's manual form Yaesu's web site, the pins outs are listed in the manual.

You could order the Heil adapter (AD-1-YM) which fans out the modular to a mic and PTT inputs using 1/8 and 1/4 male plugs, street price is $20.

I may be wrong but I believe the DIN inputs are designed for the higher levels from digital input devices and not the low level signals from a mic.
