FYI, Shell Lake control channel switched over to 152.7725 sometime yesterday. Much better signal strength, plus no interference from Carlton County, MN.

Are you checking all 3 control channel frequencies in the database? It may have just changed frequencies.

Bennett is on the air, Site 5959, 151.115 MHz.

Funny thing is I can't find Lampson, maybe they skipped it for today.

I must have searched too early today, I did a scan at about 1pm with no luck. I am hoping that I can hear this from the City of Superior, out of town for the night, will have to try tomorrow.

I find they usually put them on the air in the afternoon between about 1430 and 1600.

Depending on location I can sometimes hear Bennett on a portable around Superior. Are you listening via portable, mobile, or base? Mobile and base shouldn't have a problem.

Ahh the rumors..
Well Washington Co has tested the Harris radios on the system and are in the process of rolling out 1500 units, all with WISCOM loaded into them. So you can put that rumor to rest about them having to be Johnson :)

N3IVK that is not correct - just like software there are minimum requirements and reccomended requirements.

Minimum requirements for WISCOM are: P25, trunking, VHF, 136-174 range.

The reccomended requirements are : Compliant with current P25 standards Phase 1, Version 2,, AMBE+2 Vocoder, P25 digital trunking enabled, Provide 512 channel minimum capacity,
Minimum capability of 128 control channels, Capable of Alphanumeric Display ,138-174 MHz band spread,
Wideband antenna (139-169 MHz or better)

The system is set to be live ~ July 2011

WISCOM/RIB MTN apparently off-air.

Hey there, yes i have checked all three control channel freqs, that`s how i found out about it, i have my scanner set to scan that system and it wasn`t showing the usual display when it scanned across WISCOM/RIB MTN (usually i`d see the frequency of the c-channel on the bottom line of the display along with "DAT" and an s-meter indecation that i`m recieving a signal on that c-channel) so i put the unit into manual and started stepping through the system freqs to see if they`d changed control channels, and couldn`t get a signal on any of the other cc freqs, i have that system in the scan list and am listening right now to see if it comes back on-air, nothing yet. As i`ve noted before, this is kinda intresting, as i`ve only read of this, never actually encountered it in my scanning. Just outta curiousity, but does this system have the abaility to go into "failsoft" mode? Just curious. N9NRA

OK, I wasn't sure how you had it set up. Since it is a P25 standard system it can go into Failsoft and site trunking. EF Johnson doesn't use a zone infrastructure so no Zone trunking.

Since they are still building out the system I would guess they just took the site down for some kind of work on it.

That`s the reason i asked if someone else could confirm what i found, i wanted to make sure this wasn`t just my scanner having a funk. In fact i have the system up now (in manual mode, listening to one of the tech TG`s) and it`s still searching for the CC, however you may be right here, i`ll see tomorrow if it comes back online. Ya know, i`m kinda suprised that when this happened it didn`t go into Failsoft or site trunking mode, one would think they`d want to have that set up for just this sittuation. Intresting, and i`ll keep watching this one, should be fun to see what crops up. Thanx box23. 73. N9NRA P.S. After i first noticed this, i did a bit of listening to the WPS channels around here to see if mabey there was a power outage up on "the hill" (Rib Mountain) and there wasn`t one, as if there was then the HAM repeaters i get on also would be off-air, and they weren`t (thankfully :)).

Heard traffic on Bennett a little while ago. State Tech, rid i8110041, and Fond Du Lac 121, rid i2001191 on an EF Johnson, and my memory is a little fuzzy but something like i200x002 on a Motorola.

They were talking on STAC1. Fond Du Lac 121 was having trouble between the two radios. I was working outside the time so I didn't hear the whole conversation.

I suspect there should be another site coming online today so I'll do a search later and see what I can find.

I have been hearing testing today on TG 1. The system is still getting out well.

Just curious, but what site were you hearing that on? I`ve heard some radio key-ups earlier today on Rib (on Tech TG105) but nothing more since then. N9NRA

What vendor won the contract to construct the infrastructure for this system? Was it EF Johnson, Harris, or Motorola?

I live in the City of Franklin in Milwaukee County. I hear the WisCom (Delafield) Waukesha P25 TRS.

These are the frequencies:

139.8625
152.7575
152.8400
154.9050
155.1300

I have heard TG's 103 and 105, but this TG 1 is a new one on ths system.
