Is there any active hf ham emergency nets active during these times?

Listening with a usb dongle and a 70ft wire antenna. Just wanted to see if I could hear something of interest other then regular rag chew...

What area some suggested hf frequencies to try and listen to?

during storms, not really as static is a killer on 40 meters and 75 meters. 20 meters will skip over most operators. after storms then some nets will operate but many are vhf .ARRL Net Directory

that is the net directory for the arrl,

Tornados are more a local event so generally the VHF or UHF bands are used. When there's an active hurricane nearing the US, there will be some HF nets for them.
