I have recently been monitoring WKU and have found the following. (This is also been sent to be updated under Warren County)
Western Kentucky University
158.82000 Common University CTCSS: 131.8
453.40000 WKUPD Cadets CTCSS: 114.8
453.96250 Library Security
461.38750 Athletics #1 (Tickets/Ushers) DCS: 065
462.78750 Athletics #2 (Volunteer Parking) DCS: 065
464.38750 Athletics #3 (Unknown)
464.55000 (Yellow Dot) Coordinate Football Activities
857.86250 Parking & Transportation DCS: 464
The Parking & Transportation Department is a new one on campus and all the shuttles and parking enforcement officers use this channel. It stays busy most days. I have wondered if they plan on moving to the city/count trunked system at some point since they selected an 800 MHz channel? Can anyone shed some light on this?
I also attended a football game and had a good time listening to the channels. I found that the Yellow Dot was used to coordinate activities between someone on the field and the press box. They discussed what would happen next at the time outs, etc. I got a real good chuckle when I heard them radio the drawing for a free vacation at half time and yelled out the number just before the announcer. I got some interesting looks and told people I was just a good guesser. All in all going to a game with my scanner is something I will do again.
