• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

On several occasions, I have heard transmission on talkgroup 1242 on the Wmbg/JCC/York System. Today I heard "York County Unit 50" call someone on what he described as the 911 Channel (talkgroup 1242). The radio electronic serial number was 37175, which is within the group assigned to York County Fire (37xxx). The answering radio was number 106213. This number is within the group of numbers assigned to York County Dispatch. Assuming talkgroup 1242 is the 911 channel for York County, does anyone have any idea as to what they do on that talkgroup? Is it a common talkgroup for Police and Fire?
