Hey folks, I've been searching the data base and the threads, I just don't see, or missed it, any info on the frequencies used at Wolftrap Center for the Performing Arts. I'll be up there next week for Gordon Lightfoot and would like to listen in to the parks going on.

I am thinking they are probably on one of the 400 MHz trunked systems and I just haven't found the right one. Any help would be appreciated.

Lynn,

The rangers use 417.9750 [ CSQ] with an input of 411.7750. The volunteers use 461.4250 [ d712]. Also see license WPJT414 for more frequencies possibly used by the volunteers. Hope this helps, and let us know if you find anything new.

Dave,

Thank you for the info. I'll test the close call feature of the 396 while I am there. I'll also have my R-10 set for the wireless mikes. If there is a metal detector there now days, I'll be beeping til I get back home. :)

Well, I made the Gordon Lightfoot concert with ample time to spare. Had the 396 primed and ready to go. I did find a couple of new freqs which I am passing on to Lindsey and also posting here.

411.775 Sounded like ushers helping the handicapped
419.775 This was the operations stuff, like when the lights were to be dimmed, sound problems, etc.

As Gord wasn't using a wireless mike, my ICOM R-10 wasn't busy at all. :(

While I was at the concert, Fairfax County (which is the county Wolf Trap Park is located in) responded to a HUGE house fire. HUGE in that the house itself was BIG, 12,000 sq ft, 3 stories. Huge in that they had to go into a deluge operation. Huge in that they had at least fifteen units respond (mainly for manpower relief), and HUGE because they had a limited water supply (deluge from a tanker?????)

Fire was reported about 9:30 according to the TV news this morning. When the concert ended at 10:20, they were still trying to control it and get the tower an adequate water supply. There were two minor injuries. The house, well if anyone has seen photos of the remains of homes during Sherman's march to the sea, well you have a real good idea.
