Should have clarified that WOO was a AT&T land station that ran millions of land-marine phone patches for over half a century. Pretty sure I had qsl cards from both AT&T and RCA Communications back in the day, but details a bit fuzzy now. It was very common to hear taped "This is a test transmission from (various stations)...." when circuits were not busy.
