Ok, so they're getting permission now to use new frequency pairs between 500-506MHz? I thought most of the system was operating in the 480 range - where were they getting the ducting interference from?

Sent from my Galaxy Tab

TV channel 19 is 500-506 Mhz. Channel 20 is 506-512. They want to move from the frequency pairs in channel 20 (WQJS363, WQJS365) to new ones in channel 19 (WQPX974) because apparently WCCT-TV in Waterbury, Connecticut is interfering when band conditions are favorable to ducting.

ULS Application - Public Safety Pool, Trunked - 0004536973 - WOODBRIDGE TWP PD - Frequency Summary

The lower frequencies you are referring to fall within TV channels 15 & 16 (WQMJ581, WQMI704). Yes, Woodbridge has no less than five separate licenses that make up the TRS.

Update on EMS / Station 7

Just for those of you who listen alot, EMS is no longer dispatched from Station 7. As of 1300 on 10/1/12 Woodbridge Police headquarters will be dispatching all EMS for the town. This is the beginning of the phase out of Station 7 as a dispatch center. There is no confirmed date as of now for fire dispatch to move, but it will also be going to PD HQ.

For scanners, its the same TG as before, just radio id's of 2001-2007 will be dispatch instead of 3001-3003

New Talkgroup - Woodbridge TRS

A new talkgroup appeared on the Woodbridge TRS earlier today: 7035 in D mode. No id as far as a talkgroup name or agency, just testing being performed on it. Looks like a new project to do for some of us... :)

Another TG appeared earlier today on the TRS: 7028 in Digital clear mode. Unknown what is assigned to, but I agree that it's BOE assigned. Possibly Perth Amboy moved their BOE to this system??

I haven't been fully tuned into the radio but I believe I haven't heard traffic on the simulcast 453.225 lately. Can someone please confirm this or have I just not been paying attention? Thanks.

The link/patch to the 453.2250 freq. is currently not active. Not sure how long that has been in place. I also talked with one of my Perth Amboy contacts, and was told that primary operations will be on the TRS, and that the P25 453.4250 and 453.3000 freq's are used as back up channels.

Update: Woodbridge Radio Techs were observed doing some testing on those freq's licensed as WQPX974 earlier. The new freq's are:

500.18750
500.21250
501.30000
501.40000
501.57500
501.77500
501.87500

Not sure how this will impact the current 506-507 MHz freq's in the database yet...

I believe that's related to the waiver they got to shift the 500MHz part of the system down there due to interference on the 506-507 pairs...

As stated a few posts above, it appears that the simulcast on 453.225 has been turned off, which I have noticed as well. In order to consistently hear WPD dispatch, as well as additional radio traffic on the Woodbridge TRS, you would need to purchase a digital scanner.

It appears that talkgroups in the 70xx range are assigned to the Woodbridge Board of Education, as it may have been mentioned earlier. I've also noticed that some of the schools are using trunked radios now. Anyone with particular knowledge of the school system, can you help identify which school is assigned to a particular talkgroup in the 70xx range? I already know that 7009 is the Transportation Dept., but I've been hearing TG's 7030 - 7035 in digital mode; however the challenge is on now to ID each school assigned.

Are any of you guys that can clearly hear the system set up to use DSD4Win? I want to know if the system is truly using CQPSK on the voice channels (as an 8-site simulcast, I'm almost 100% it is).

I was doing some extended testing tonight in DSD with the Somerset & Morris P25 systems, and I just finally realized tonight that Somerset's system is C4FM, not CQPSK.

Thanks in advance...

Dont have a lot of exerience with this, would you be able to lead me in the right direction as what is needed?

Yes, the simulcast is back up. I forgot to post that the other night when I noticed (sorry about that). I also came across a new talkgroup today: 7036 in Digital mode. It was a school testing out "the new radios."

After Listening to hours of recordings from each talkgroup, I have finally figured out the new BoE talkgroups.

7028 - Avenel Middle School
7029 - Colonia Middle School
7030 - Fords Middle School
7031 - Iselin Middle School
7032 - Woodbridge Middle School

7033 - Colonia Senior High School
7034 - John F. Kennedy Memorial High School
7035 - Woodbridge Senior High School

It appears they are working on rolling out radios to all the elementary schools also, but they are just simply at range testing phases, and have no identifiable audio on them.

EDIT: Submitted to database already

Nice work! I also noticed TG 7001 being tested today in D mode, but was unable to monitor it extensively for identification. I think Woodbridge is doing the right thing by getting all services on the same radio system. Maybe other towns will do the same in the future... (wishful thinking on my part)

I have NUMEROUS new talkgroups in the 70xx range that are almost popping up daily. It's going to be interesting what else ends up on the system.
